The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

As a company that aims to make a positive impact, it was crucial for us to incorporate key SDGs that align with our mission into all aspects of our business operations to ensure overall sustainability.

Target 5.5 - Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life.

At The Skin Concept, we are dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering workplace for our female employees. We believe that women should be able to thrive in the workplace and reach their full potential, and we provide the support and resources they need to do so.

Target 8.2 - Achieve higher levels of economic productivity through diversification, technological upgrading and innovation, including through a focus on high-value added and labor-intensive sectors.

TSC products are made from sustainable and ethically sourced ingredients, and our packaging is designed to minimize waste and reduce our environmental impact.

In addition, we prioritize the well-being of our workers and ensure fair wages and safe working conditions. By investing in the development and training of our employees, we also aim to improve their economic productivity.

Target 9.4 - By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities.

As a sustainable, handmade brand, TSC believes that it is our responsibility as a business to take action to reduce our carbon footprint, and to promote sustainable practices throughout our production process. We work closely with suppliers and partners to ensure that our ingredients and packaging materials are sourced responsibly, and that our production and processes are as energy-efficient as possible and waste generated is at its minimum.

Target 12.5 - By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse.

To achieve this goal at TSC, we take a number of steps to prevent, reduce, recycle, and reuse waste. For example, we use eco-friendly packaging materials that can be easily recycled or reused. We also strive to reduce use of single-use plastics. Our packaging jars are sturdy and can be refilled or be reused by consumers for other purposes at home and office. Our packaging boxes are bio-degradable and we encourage our online customers to opt for shipping products without the outer box to reduce waste generation.

In addition, we make sure to use only the natural ingredients in our products, so that we don't generate any excess waste and it bio-degrades with time. We also work with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability, and we recycle any materials that we can't reuse. Our Shampoo bars are zero waste-once its used, no plastic bottle/jar is left to dispose. The outer box is made with cotton paper reducing use of paper.

Target 12.8 - By 2030, ensure that people everywhere have the relevant information and awareness for sustainable development and lifestyles in harmony with nature.

At The Skin Concept, we believe that by educating our customers about the benefits of natural ingredients and sustainable practices, we can help to promote a more conscious and responsible consumer culture.

We take pride in creating products that are not only good for the skin, but also good for the planet. Most of our ingredients are sourced from small, sustainable suppliers and are plant based and natural. We use more natural substitutes of ingredients in our products to make sure no toxins enter your skin or our ecosystem. We also make all efforts to inform our customers about the origin of the ingredients and the impact that it has on the environment.

Target 14.1 - By 2025, prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution.

At The Skin Concept, we believe that protecting our oceans and marine life is not only important for the environment, but also for our own well-being.

One of the ways we strive to achieve this goal is by using eco-friendly and biodegradable packaging for our products. We understand that plastic pollution is a major contributor to marine pollution, and we want to do our part in reducing this problem.

In addition to our packaging, we also use only natural, plant based, and sustainably sourced ingredients in our products. For example, by using natural scrubs in our products, we ensure no micro plastics enter our water systems. Micro plastics are a major cause of water animals.

We also use plant based surfactants like SCI to ensure no toxic waste is generated in our water ecosystem. We believe that by using these ingredients, we are not only providing our customers with high-quality skincare products, but also supporting local communities and protecting the environment.

Target 17.1 - Strengthen domestic resource mobilization, including through international support to developing countries, to improve domestic capacity for tax and other revenue collection

One of the ways we are actively working towards this goal is by ensuring that all of our products are made with locally sourced and sustainable materials. By supporting local suppliers and farmers, we are not only reducing our environmental footprint but also investing in the growth and development of our community.

In addition, we are committed to paying our fair share of taxes and ensuring that our business practices align with the principles of transparency and accountability. By doing so, we are contributing to the strengthening of domestic resource mobilization and supporting the development of our country.

Target 17.16 - Enhance the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development, complemented by multi-stakeholder partnerships that mobilize and share knowledge, expertise, technology and financial resources, to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in all countries, in particular developing countries

We understand that achieving sustainable development is not a one-man job. It requires the collaboration and cooperation of different stakeholders, including businesses, governments, civil society organizations, and individuals. That is why we have made it a priority to work with other organizations and individuals that share our vision of a sustainable future.

One of the ways we do this is by partnering with local coffee shops to source our Coffee beans. We air dry the coffee grounds and reuse them for our best selling coffee scrub. We also procure our ingredients from local vendors and suppliers. By working with these small businesses, we not only support their livelihoods but also contribute to the development of their communities. We also make sure that the ingredients we use are ethically sourced and grown in an environmentally-friendly manner.

We also believe in the importance of sharing knowledge and expertise to support sustainable development. That is why we regularly participate in workshops and events that aim to educate and raise awareness about sustainable living. We also collaborate with other businesses and organizations to share best practices and learn from each other.

We believe that sustainable development is not just a goal, but a responsibility, and we are proud to play our part in making our planet a better place for future generations. We firmly believe that business can be a force for good, and we are committed to making a positive impact on people and the planet.
